Dr. Joon Ming Wong
Joon strongly believes in patient literacy, emphasising the importance of educating patients about their conditions to empower them in their own healthcare journey.
Meet Joon
Dr. Joon Ming Wong initially pursued a career in engineering, earning his Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from the University of Melbourne in 2007. However, his passion for healthcare led him to study medicine, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Monash University in 2014.
Dr. Wong has worked extensively in the Gippsland region, practicing in Traralgon and Korumburra from 2017 to 2024. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2021 and is committed to providing comprehensive and patient-centered care.
His areas of interest include medical education, chronic disease management, mental health, men’s health, geriatrics, travel medicine, and adolescent health.
Fluent in both Malay and English, Dr. Wong ensures effective communication with a diverse range of patients. Outside of medicine, he enjoys reading in his free time.
